Readers Theatre – Part 2, Chorus Winter Concert, & Service Learning

"How Chipmunk Got His Stripes"

Mr. Goehrke’s, Mrs. Lasley’s, and Mrs. Shanahan’s classes performed their Readers Theatre skits on Thursday.  The children impressed the audience with their reading and acting skills.

"Jackie and the Giant Sunflower"

"How Grandmother Spider Stole the Sun"

"The Girl Who Drew Cats"

Under the direction of OES music teachers, Ms. Wyler & Mrs. Youkeles, our 5th & 6th grade chorus performed for families on Thursday night and for their peers on Friday afternoon.  Their renditions of Silver Bells, My Candles, and North Pole Rock n’Roll helped to get us all in the holiday spirit!

Also, on Friday, our 6th graders presented local charities with the money they raised from their “Empty Bowl Dinner.”  Students raised $900 and divided it evenly between Food for Others, So Others Might Eat, The Lamb Center, and Friends of Homeless Animals.  -cg
