6th Grade Invades Williamsburg

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Oakton’s 6th graders visited Colonial Williamsburg on Friday.   Our students enjoyed having their social studies lessons come to life.  We enjoyed learning about life in the Governor’s Palace, how the courts worked, and punishment in the jails and pillory. -cg

Luck of the Irish

Tiny leprechaun feet were found all around Oakton on Friday.  Many of our primary students designed traps to catch the tricky creatures, but at last count, no one had successfully secured one.  The cheeky leprechauns made a mess of many of our rooms and caused quite a stir as students arrived to find that their chairs had been upturned and materials were scattered about.  St. Patrick’s Day always offers an exciting twist to a fun learning day at OES! -cg

Oakton students celebrated Dr. Suess this week.  Children dressed as their favorite characters, wore wacky socks, and sported fun hats – all in honor of this wonderful author.  We culminated the week with a Suess read-in! -cg
