History Comes Alive At OES

Miss Robinson’s third graders opened their Famous American Wax Museum this week.   Each statue had a button for guests to press.  Once the button was pressed, the statue came to life and told the guest 3 facts about himself/herself.   Visitors made their guesses as to who the famous American was and could verify their answer by lifting up the “Who Am I” sign to see if they were correct.

In addition to the third grade portrayals of famous Americans, our PTA sponsored the assembly,  Women: Back to the Future.  Kate Campbell Stevenson presented several historical women figures including Sacagawea, Abigail Adams, and Jessie Coleman.  Kate brought to life these women with “can do” attitudes through song, monolog, poetry and sign language.
