Vamos a Hablar Español

Spanish FLES (Foreign Language in  Elementary School) has begun at Oakton!

This year, students in grades 1-6 are receiving two 30-minute Spanish lessons each week.  Our two Spanish teachers, Señora Mothes and Señora Uribarri Tibabuzo (“Señora U”), use songs, games, and stories to introduce Spanish vocabulary and culture.  Students learn (or build on) their Spanish listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and reinforce core curriculum and content.  Spanish FLES will follow our students through Oakton with the goal of students reaching a high level of proficiency by the end of sixth grade.  For more information and updates, please visit the Blackboard (24-7) course, “Spanish at Oakton, 2012-2013.”
