Honoring our family and our past

Student teacher, Natasha Bauer, worked with Mrs. Peters’ 1st grade students to create a “Family Hero Trophy” in art.  Students brainstormed the qualities of a hero and explored what it meant to appreciate someone of importance in their family.  Each child selected one family member and, through their artwork, depicted their hero-like qualities.

This week, archeologist Jack Hiller visited our 5th grade.  Mr. Hiller taught our students about artifacts and described his participation in the excavation of Lord Fairfax’s Manner House on Ft. Belvoir.
